What a Nurse Practitioner can do for you?

Revolutionising Healthcare in Australia

How is a Nurse Practitioner different to a Registered Nurse?

  • Knowledge & Experience

NPs are highly skilled and experienced clinicians with a Bachelor of Nursing and a Masters of Nursing, inclusive of over 5000 hours of specialty experience.

They work collaboratively with Medical and Allied Health professionals to optimise patient care.

  • Assess, Diagnose & Treat

NPs are qualified to perform comprehensive assessments, make diagnoses, order pathology tests and imaging, prescribe medication and provide specialist referrals.

  • Eligible for Medicare Rebates

NP consultations are eligible for a Medicare Rebate in most circumstances. NPs are authorised to prescribe medication under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
